The only music that I love more than Soul/R&B/Funk music is when Soul/R&B/Funk music pulls its aesthetics from psychedelia/alternative/indie music. When these cultures clash, my ears perk up. I have recently been completely obsessed with Lucky Daye’s “HERicane” and more specifically its production by Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II.
This record came out last summer but it’s worth revisiting. Let’s take a trip into the eye of the storm and let me show you what makes this song magical.
